The Mechanic will assist in carrying out repairs and maintenance of the Rig under the direct supervision of the Senior Mechanic.

Safety Responsibilities
Lead safety by example for all employees to follow.Implement and lead company and operator safety programs and initiatives.Participation in and compliance with the Permit to Work system.Attend pre-tour and pre-job safety meetings in compliance with the company requirements (which includes use of the 4-Point check / Energy Wheel and JSA tools), participate fully in discussions to determine the safest method to complete the task and have a full understanding of the work to be performed (especially their individual role).Member of the Maintenance Team for all emergencies, as described in the Contingency and Emergency ManualReport all hazards and positively intervene in all observed unsafe acts.Participate in emergency drills, including post-drill debriefsAttend General Safety Meetings.Instruct junior members of the maintenance team in the safest work methods and provide On-the-Job training.Carry out all work activities within the guidelines of Company or Operator Policies or ProceduresEnsure he is familiar with any delegated responsibilities as detailed in the Operators Emergency Response Plan
Includes, But Is Not Limited To And Not In Order Of Priority
Instruct and supervise junior members of maintenance crews.Execute all aspects of the Planned Maintenance System relating to Mechanical equipment and recording the maintenance performed in the STAR SystemCarry out daily checks of mechanical equipmentCarry out Mechanical isolations for general maintenance and repair purposes, consistent with company procedural directives and Lock-out / Tag-out requirementsLiaise with Senior Mechanic regarding maintenance/repairs and forward planning to avoid the risk of delay through equipment breakdownCarry out mechanical isolations for general maintenance and repair purposes, consistent with company procedural directives and Lock-out / Tag-out requirementsCheck the engine room and Motorman's log.Report deficiencies with respect to spare parts, tools etc to the Senior Mechanic.Ensure that all modifications are carried out under the Sapurakencana MOC proceduresReport all drawing updates to the Senior MechanicAssist in maintaining certification of equipment as requiredEnsure that good housekeeping practices are adhered to in all areas under his charge at all times.Assist with maintenance of mechanical tools and instruments.Compile complete hand-over notes for his relief at crew changeAssist Senior Mechanic to prepare work scopes for major Mechanical overhauls.Provide On-the-Job training and assistance to junior members of maintenance crewPerform Other activities as directed by the Senior Mechanic for which he is competent
Job Requirements
5 years as Assistant Mechanic with Mechanical Trade Certificate OR 2 years as Mechanic with ONC/HNCVarco TD's courseValid BOSIET CertificateValid OGUK Medical CertificateGood level of verbal and written communication in English.Maintain BMI levels as per Company & Client's requirementsThe incumbent is expected to be mobile to cover similar roles within the fleetMeet the training requirements as per company's training matrixExtensive experience from operations of drilling unitsAbility to competently and safely perform duties defined in the job description.
