Job Description

NES Global Talent is a leading global technical recruitment company providing professional contract and permanent staff to a diverse world-wide client base within the oil & gas Industry. Our client, a well-known operator company, is currently seeking (2) Power Engineers for a 1 year contract to start with the likelihood of being extended. The qualified candidate MUST be local or have accommodations in Fort McMurray are as no LOA will be given. The schedule is 14 days 14 nights on working 12 hrs/day.

Responsibilities:

·         Safe and efficient operations of various equipment located in the steam plant and related facilities (pumps, pipelines, controls, valves and other related equipment)

·         Monitoring and control of the assigned unit

·         Performing regular testing and analysis on products

·         Performing safe and efficient start-up and shut-down of equipment by following proper procedures

·         Comply with safety standards and company regulations

·         Learn the layout, purpose and operating parameters of each system

·         Participate in workshops to enhance skill set and advancement

·         Maximizing plant throughput and operating cost efficiency for your shift

·         Assist Maintenance personnel in troubleshooting and repairing of plant equipment

·         Rotate job positions as directed by the Shift Engineer

·         Learn and qualify in all units/job classifications

Qualifications:

·         (2) to (4) years of operating experience; preference will be given to those with experience in the thermal recovery process, oil field steam generation, control panel operation, oil and water processing and oil field production operations

·         A Fourth Class Power Engineering Certificate is required; preference will be given to those with higher certification

·         SAGD experience is considered an asset

·         Strong troubleshooting and decision-making abilities

·         Familiarity with government regulations, corporate policies and procedures

·         Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills

·         Well-developed computer skills in Microsoft Office tools; knowledge of Maximo is an asset

·         Strong communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team

·         Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
