Job Description
Our client is seeking an experience CNC Machinist for a workshop role, based in Kalgoorlie. Full-time with an immediate start required, at a flat rate of $37.50 per hour.
The roster is a Monday to Friday roster, with overtime as required.
Reporting to the Machine Shop Supervisor, the successful candidate will produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.
Your responsibilities will include;

Reporting to the Machine Shop Supervisor, the successful candidate will produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.
Your responsibilities will include;
- Program mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices.
- Load feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
- Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces.
- Participate and contribute to Lean activities and initiatives.
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements.
- Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference plans, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances.
- Ensure that at all times the correct PPE is worn.
- A relevant trade certificate.
- Minimum 2 years of experience.
- ISO Programming experience.
- Computer Aided Manufacturing Software experience preferably with Mastercam or NX.
- Experience with Machining Centres, Turning Centres and Multi-tasking centres.
- Thorough understanding of Cutting Tool capabilities and metal removal techniques.
- Experience designing, manufacturing and utilising fixtures and various work holding methods.
- Thorough understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s License
- Current Forklift Ticket.
- Current National Police Clearance.
- Sound Organisational and Time Management skills.
- Sound Communication and Interpersonal skills.
- An ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
- High level of safety orientation
