Job Description

Position Details

Primary: Replace valves, gaskets, basic welding, repack pumps and valves, forklift operation, screwed piping and tubing installation, pump repair & replacement, repair of rotating assemblies, roll repair & replacement, motor replacement, and repair of mechanical drive systems.
Secondary: Ensure compliance to established safety rules/policies, and mechanical specifications. Actively lead and participate in safety, housekeeping, and continuous improvement efforts.

Education & Experience Requirements

Must have manufacturing
High School Diploma or GED
Two-year Associate Degree in a related field or a registered apprenticeship or similar training
Strong technical skills with at least 3-5 years in-plant Heavy Industrial Maintenance
Previous multi-skilled maintenance experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Mechanical background is required with adequate craft knowledge
Strong interpersonal skills with leadership and strategic thinking skills
Ability to develop long and short term strategic improvement plans
Demonstrated ability to read standard blueprints, machine, and process drawings
Can manage multiple priorities simultaneously and keep them progressing to completion

Duties and Responsibilities

Approach all aspects of the work with ‘safety as a value.’
Wear required safety equipment
Follow all safety procedures including: lockout/tagout, confined spaces, etc.
Safely perform preventative maintenance and repairs on machines, buildings, stock prep, steam supply/boiler equipment, and other equipment as necessary
Available to work overtime with last minute notification
Available to work holidays and/or weekends

This position requires flexible hours including occasional late-night call-ins.
Operate or work in industrial conditions (i.e. warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around chemicals, noise, heavy machinery, elevated working surfaces with proper training & safety protection)
Other responsibilities as necessary
