Sr. Electrical Design Engineer – Specialty Chemicals

LOCATION

NES Global Talent is a leading global technical recruitment company providing professional contract and permanent staff to a diverse world-wide client base within multiple industries. Our client is leading specialty chemical company based in the US with operations & facilities globally. They are headquartered in North Carolina and looking to add a Sr. Electrical Design Engineer to their corporate engineering team supporting the various facilities globally.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:  
Sr. Electrical Design Engineer – Specialty Chemicals
  • Report to the lead corporate electrical engineer covering capital projects and technical support for the various facilities globally
  • Develop designs for projects from start to finish including traveling onsite for commissioning and troubleshooting
  • Provide engineering technical support with regards to projects related to all power related systems and equipment
  • Provide support to the maintenance teams in addition to testing, inspection, and troubleshooting of equipment
  • Work closely with internal and external engineering teams and vendors for projects
  • Run failure analysis utilizing ETAP or SKM
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:  
Sr. Electrical Design Engineer – Specialty Chemicals
  • BS in Electrical Engineering
  • 7+ years of electrical engineering experience preferably in a petrochemical or industrial plant environment
  • Strong experience with capital projects from initial design through commissioning
  • Strong experience with power systems analysis; ETAP & SKM
  • Experience with equipment 13.8kv and below; MCC’s, switchgear, cable trays, transformers, etc.
  • Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, OSHA, and other electrical industry standards and regulations
  • Spanish speaking a big plus!
  • Ability to travel 20-30% both in the US and internationally
